2010 is over, gone and things can't be changed. The past is the past and forward is the only way to go.
We had a pretty uneventful year. Tom was out on the road, I was here at home, but a few things did happen that are noteworthy.
In June our car was totaled and we took the settlement for it and bought each of our boys a car. T.J. got a 2000 Grand AM and Joshua a Saturn SC1. Sweet little sporty cars!
Our oldest boy, T.J., graduated from High School this year! It seems like just yesterday I brought him home from the hospital. In August I moved him to his college dorm and set him on his path to his future. I am so proud of the man he has become. Yes, he still irritates me, but no more than any other kids who knows everything does. LOL I wish him all the luck in the world!
Our youngest boy, Joshua, had a good year and is now a senior in High School. Again, where has the time gone? In August Josh had a terrible car accident. His vehicle was hit and he was knocked out cold and hit a tree (after crossing into on coming traffic and going through a yard and a fence). The tree was a 30 foot pine and the impact pushed it right over. Mind you, he was driving a little sports car. I got the call about it and from 20 blocks away I could see all the emergency vehicles. On that night someone was looking over all the kids in the car. BOTH of my boys were in it, Joshua's girlfriend, and another 2 friends. The only injury??? One broken wrist. God is good!
I got a horse years ago from my husband and she was very young at the time. She was too young to ride so I have been working with her on other training things. This past summer I FINALLY rode her for the first time! It was so exciting to see how well she did.
Other than that excitement???? Oh, I know! Our Daughter, Jessica, was in Erie around Christmas. So was her sister Ashley. Tom and I wanted so badly to see our Grand kids so we invited the girls over to the house to visit with us and Tom's Mom. Well, Jessica, of course, came over with Jasmine and we had a wonderful evening. Ashley and her Father had a falling out a few years back and she refused. He has reached out many times to her and just keeps getting his hand bit. I pray someday they will come together again. There is a third child of his too, but she is pretty much a lost cause. Again, Tom has reached out and the kid is too busy in her won little world. She tells her Grandmother to have him call her, but she only says that because she knows that is what her Grandmother wants to hear. So sad too.
We also lost my Uncle this year very suddenly. He was diagnosed with cancer and never got to go back home, He was in the hospital a month and then was gone. It was so aggressive we never had time to prepare. We miss him everyday.
So that about covers our year. See, not much happens around here. LOL Hope 2011 brings better days.
